VN economy posts 4.5% growth in Q2

The economy is showing signs of recovery, with second quarter growth rising to 4.5 percent, 1.4 percent higher than in the first quarter.

In the first half of the year, gross domestic product grew 3.9 percent year on year, with agriculture, forestry, and aquaculture expanding by 1.25 percent, industry and construction by 3.48 percent, and services by 5.5 percent.

Meanwhile. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung presided over a regular Cabinet meeting on July 6 to assess the economic situation in the first half.

It also considered the difficulties ahead and measures to overcome them.
