TRC: Explanation for the business fluctuation in quarter 2/2009

Tay Ninh Rubber Joint Stock Company (TRC: TANIRUCO) has explained profit in quarter 2/2009 down over 5% compared with quarter 1/2009 as follows:

* Profit in quarter 1/2009           : VND28,342,048,990

* Profit in quarter 2/2009           : VND18,801,734,768

* Change                                 : VND9,540,314,222 (33%)

Reasons:

* Output in quarter 2 was 160 tons higher than quarter 1 but profit in quarter 2 was down because the demand decreased.

* Sales volume in quarter 1/2009 was 2,652 tons, included 682 tons of inventories transferred from 2008.

* Sales volume in quarter 2/2009 was 1,726 tons, reached 65% compared with quarter 1/2009.

* Inventories transferred to quarter 3/2009 were 414 tons.

* However, the company got VND5.2 billion of profit from financial activities and liquidating rubber wood in quarter 1/2009. In quarter 2/2009, the company did not get any profit from other extra activities.
