Four firms barred from bidding for WB-funded projects

The Ministry of Transport has forbidden four enterprises from bidding for projects financed by the World Bank and those managed by the Project Management Unit No. 1.

The four enterprises are: Hoang An Joint-stock Co.; Thang Long Construction Investment Trading and Consultancy Joint Stock Co.; Thang Long Trading and Construction Joint-stock Co.; and Vinashin Infrastructure Development and Construction Joint Stock Co.

The ministry said these enterprises had broken the rules while bidding for parts of the projects to build the Vinh My B, Chiet Nieu and Su Son bridges in Bac Lieu Province, which is the third stage of a WB-funded project to renovate National Highway 1.

The one-year ban took effect on July 9, 2009.
