City trade centre vows to work harder
The HCM City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) will work harder in the second half of the year to help enterprises retain old markets and find new ones, it said at a first half review meeting on Wednesday.
ITPC director Tu Minh Thien said despite facing many difficulties due to the impacts of the global economic downturn, the centre successfully carried out many programmes, including professional training courses and trade exhibitions and fairs to help enterprises raise their competitiveness and expand their markets.
It constantly updated information regarding import-export activities and legal documents to help businesses.
Thien said ITPC would continue building strategies to develop the local market and support businesses in gaining a foothold in it, thus restricting the flow of imports.
It would also organise more seminars, fairs, training courses and trade promotion programmes to support businesses over the next six months.
Besides, the centre would organise regular meetings between the municipal government and businesses to help redress problems in a timely manner.
