Work on major coffee factory begins

A ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a 40 million USD coffee processing factory was held in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on June 9 in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem.

After it is completed over the next 18 months, the factory will be capable of producing 60,000 tonnes of processed coffee a year.

The Trung Nguyen Coffee Joint-Stock Company said that it intends to invest in the latest vacuum steaming and drying technologies in an effort to improve the quality of its Rubosta products for export.

It will also install an instant coffee production line that uses the most advanced drying technology, unprecedented in Vietnam .

Deputy PM Khiem urged the Trung Nguyen Company as a national leader in the coffee industry, to work harder to promote the nation’s coffee brands abroad by widening cooperation with foreign partners.

Also present at the event were the ambassadors of Denmark and the Republic of Korea and several equipment suppliers from overseas.
