Han bridge kicked off

Hai Duong’s Department of Transportation organised a ground-breaking ceremony in Zone 6, Cam Thuong Ward, Hai Duong City on June 1 to build Han Bridge spanning the Thai Binh river.

A total length of 10.8 km links national Highway no 5 to no 37 at km 78+500.

The 763.88m-long bridge section is part of the Han bridge project and the rest are roads passing Cam Thuong ward, Thuong Dat commune and seven communes of Nam Sach district, Hai Duong province.

Han bridge is 15 m in width and the roads passing Hai Duong city and Nam Sach district are 33 m and 12 m wide respectively. With an estimated investment of VND 721.5 billion, the bridge is designed with prestressed ferro-concrete girders

It is expected that by 2012, the Han bridge project will have been completed and used. This is a key construction of Hai Duong province which plays an important role in the socio-economic development and in expanding urban space of Hai Duong city. Also, the construction will help to cut traveling time from Hai Duong to Nam Sach, Chi Linh districts, Quang Ninh province and other neighbouring areas.
