Domestic gold prices go down further
World gold prices dropped considerably on the morning of June 23, causing domestic gold prices to fall by VND150,000 per tael to VND20.73 million per tael to buy and VND20.81 million to sell.
SJC plate gold at the Saigon Gold, Silver and Jewellery Company was bought at VND20.71 million per tael and sold for VND20.81 million per tael in the Hanoi market.
SBJ gold at Saigon Thuong Tin bank (Sacombank) was bought at VND20.71 million per tael and sold at VND20.81 million per tael.
The gold trading floor continued to be very competitive for investors. Gold prices peaked at VND19.72 million per tael at 10am the same day.
The constant rise in the exchange rate of the VND against the US$ prevented domestic gold prices from falling as much as world gold prices. Domestic gold prices remain VND950,000 per tael higher than world gold prices.
