Vietnamese, Canadian provinces promotes cooperation
A delegation of northern Hung Yen province, led by Nguyen Van Cuong, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee has signed a MoU on cooperation with Canada’s western Saskatchewan Province.
During its four-day visit ending April 27, the delegation met with Brad Wall, governor of Saskatchewan province to discuss plans on economic cooperation and encourage Canadian businesses to invest in Hung Yen.
The two sides agreed to do their utmost to seek opportunities in economic and technical cooperation, particularly in agricultural biotechnology in the near future.
The Hung Yen delegation also held a round-table meeting with businesses of Saskatchewan where they introduced the province’s socio-economic situation, potentials and incentive policy to foreign investment.
The Canadian businesses showed their interest in investing in Vietnam in general and Hung Yen province in particular.
Saskatchewan province, covering 651,900 sq.km, is a wheat granary of Canada and has the largest reserve of minerals in the country, especially oil and uranium.
