Service offers new option in office leasing
Virtual offices are becoming an increasingly popular choice for small-and medium-sized enterprises who wish to save on the cost of leasing traditional office space.
Companies providing virtual office services can offer clients with all the amenities of a regular office at a fraction of the cost, including answering phones and receiving mail, faxes and deliveries of documents, as well as providing meeting facilities.
Nguyen Minh Khue, director of the company Abix, decided to stop leasing a 20 sq.m office and use the virtual office services offered by Regus. His old office was in an out-of-the-way location while the virtual office has a great location in downtown Hanoi, giving his clients more convenient place to meet with him.
”Leasing the old office cost us about US$1,000 per month, but the virtual office service is much cheaper at only US$200,” Mr. Khue said.
Virtual offices have been popular worldwide but remain relatively new in Vietnam. Leaders in the field such as Regus and the International Communication Network Corporation (IncomNet) have recently set up their services here.
“We opened the service in 2007, but it has really developed since mid-2008,” said IncomNet deputy director Huynh Quang Viet. “Demand for the service has increased by 70 to 80 percent since last July.”
Two of the main factors that have driven the growth of the service are the development of internet services and the global recession, Mr. Viet said.
