Agricultural, forestry and aquatic exports in first quarter make US$3.47 billion
The export of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products in the first quarter of this year earned US$3.47 billion, increasing by 31 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In March alone, the export of those goods brought in US$1.2 billion. In particular, the exports of agricultural products achieved US$1.97 billion (up 11.28 percent against the same period last year), aquatic products at US$744 million (down 7 percent) and forestry products at US$572 million (down 22.82 percent).
In addition, the total amount of fertiliser imported in March alone was 289,000 tonnes, raising the total figure to 874,000 tonnes in the first quarter, up 92.53 percent against the same period last year.
Insecticides imported in March reached nearly US$30 million, wood products imported amounted to US$40 million and imported fodder for livestock cost US$100 million.
