Dresden shows support for Vietnamese businesses

Deputy Mayor of Dresden, Germany, Dirk Hilbert affirmed that local authorities will make every effort to continue helping the local Vietnamese community in their economic pursuits and integrating into German society.

The German official held a working session on March 20 with Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Do Hoa Binh and the leadership of the TID-Germany company, owned by Vietnamese living in the city – the first such three-party session.

It was held on the threshold of the 3rd Congress of the Association of Vietnamese Businesses in Germany, and discussed measures to encourage further development of Vietnamese business in the city, and in Germany in-general.

The Deputy Mayor of Dresden also expressed his hope to develop diverse economic, cultural and tourist cooperation between Dresden and Vietnamese partners.

Ambassador Binh praised the creative operational model of TID-Germany and openly discussed the company challenges amid the current economic crisis. He said he hopes the company will continue to develop and create jobs for Vietnamese workers in Germany.

TID-Germany is the only Vietnamese company in Germany operating in job recruitment field. It recruits works, primarily Vietnamese, for the meat processing industry.

Established in January 2006, with 30 contracts to supply workers for German enterprises, TID-Germany currently has 200 workers employed by companies in 15 cities in Germany.

At the session, the company, through the Vietnamese Ambassador, granted 100 million VND to the Centre for AO/Dioxin victims in Vietnam, and 1,000 EUR to a charity fund started by the Tin Tuc (News) weekly for Vietnamese living and working in Germany.
