Saigontourist busy with foreign visitors in New Year

The Saigontourist Travel Service Company received 800 tourists who anchored at Da Nang port on January 1 and is organising a Premium Travel tour for 33 VIP tourists of the US ’s A&K firm from January 2-5.

The A&K tourists will visit Hanoi , Ha Long Bay, Imperial Hue City and Ho Chi Minh City , before leaving for Siem Reap , Cambodia .

The company is also arranging special city tours for 51 visitors from Germany ’s Hapaq Lloyd between January 4-7.

One of the nation’s leading travel companies, Saigontourist received more than 1.5 million visitors, including 900,000 foreigners in 2008.

The company posted a turnover of nearly 7.5 trillion VND this year, a 14.4 percent increase over 2007.

In order to better serve the increasing number of international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City , Saigontourist has launched a number of projects to upgrade luxury hotels develop tourist sites.

The company plans to receive more than 1.6 million visitors this year and ensuring a growth rate of 13 percent or more.

To achieve the target, the company will also join hands with Vietnam Airlines to offer tours at reasonable prices and organise cultural and art programmes exhibitions both at home and abroad to lure more visitors.
