PetroVietnam to invest in electricity project
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has assigned the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) to invest in the Quang Trach electricity centre project in central Quang Binh province.
Deputy PM Hai asked PetroVietnam to ensure the progress of the project in accordance with the national electricity development plan for 2006-2015 period.
The Quang Trach electricity centre project is part of the general diagram for national electricity development in the 2006-2015 period, passed by the Prime Minister on August 10, 2007.
The 2,400 MW project includes two thermal power plants.
The first phase of the project, with a capacity of 2x 600MW, is expected to be operational in 2015, and the whole project will be put into operation in 2016.
