Sharing experience in promoting “each village, each product”
A national seminar on developing an “each village, each product” campaign was held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 22 by the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO), the Vietnam Productivity Centre and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Rural Development.
Fumihiro Kabuta, in charge of APO programme, said that the campaign appeared for the first time in Japan in 1979. Some Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Cambodia gained experience in developing the campaign and achieved significant results.
Experts say that promoting rural development to improve the quality of life is a common concern of many provinces in Vietnam. In addition to growing rice and other agricultural plants, Vietnamese craft villages have been formed and developed. However, to increase the value of their products to help the craft villages develop requires the support of relevant agencies.
