Expo shows off finest food export products

A goods expo that opened last Friday marks efforts by the HCM City Trade Promotion and Investment Center to strengthen the position of Vietnamese goods in domestic as well as international markets.

The exhibition has attracted about 30 enterprises in the consumer goods sector from Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities like Lam Dong, Vung Tau, Da Nang, Kien Giang and Dong Nai.

The exhibition will display prominent export products including seafood, agricultural products, hundreds of processed foodstuff varieties and spices.

More colourful fruits and vegetables with brand names like Nam Roi pomelo, green skin pomelo, Hoa Loc mango, Lo Ren star apple, Hoang Hau dragon fruit, and Ba Moi grapes also fall under the special products for export category.

Other products include varieties of tea, coffee and Da Lat wine.

The exhibition, that will run until February 28, 2009, is being held at 92-96 Nguyen Hue street, District 1.
