SBV and Bundesbank hold Cash Circulation Management Seminar
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the Bundesbank (Germany) jointly held a Seminar on Cash Circulation Management in Hanoi on Dec 3-4, 2008
This seminar, which was attended by Mr.Jens Fuhrmann, Senior Advisor in cash management of the Bundesbank Technical Cooperation Center, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Director General of the SBV Issue and Vault Department, and many representatives from departments and branches of the SBV and commercial banks, aimed at providing useful information on cash circulation management and anti-counterfeit money through presentations made by the Bundesbank Advisor. In addition, this seminar would be an opportunity to give more inputs to the “Issue and Vault Modernization” Project.
Cash circulation management, anti-counterfeit money, method of defining cash demand and so on and so forth are the issues of interest for Vietnam in general and the SBV in particular.
As the key speaker, Mr. Jens Fuhrmann illustrated several interesting issues such as national tasks of the Bundesbank in cash circulation, the Bundesbank’s position in the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), branch strategy, ESCB Euro principal approach, automatic cash management, anti-counterfeit money, cash transportation, etc.
Through this seminar, the attendants obtained more valuable information and experiences for reference in their cash circulation research and management as well as anti-counterfeit money.
