Norwegian construction firm opens Vietnamese base
Norwegian construction services provider Aker Solutions has opened its first operation center in Vietnam Sunday, the company said in a statement.
The center, located in the southern town of Vung Tau, aims to serve the local oil and gas businesses, said the Norwegian firm.
The facility consists of an office and a 740-square meter warehouse, employing six foreign and local engineers, said the company.
Aker Solutions said it had plans to recruit more local workers there.
The center is located within the state-owned Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) facilities in Vung Tau.
Aker Solutions is a leading provider of engineering, construction, and maintenance services for industrial facilities in the oil, gas, energy, metals and mining industries.
Located 125 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, the coastal town of Vung Tau is PTSC’s main operation location in Vietnam.
PTSC, a listed company and member of PetroVietnam, provides technical services for local and foreign oil and gas companies.
