Italian firms to seek partners in Vietnam
A delegation of more than 230 businessmen from almost 160 Italian firms will visit Vietnam early next month to seek business partners, said an Italian trade representative in Vietnam at a press conference on Oct. 23.
The delegation is to accompany Italy ’s Minister of Economic Development Claudio Scajola, who will meet with Vietnam’s Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc during his four-day visit to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
There will be between 1,500-2,000 separate meetings between Vietnamese and Italian entrepreneurs, said Marco Saladini, the Italian trade representative.
Two-way trade between the two countries has increased from 320 million USD in 1996 to 1.5 billion USD in 2007.
Italy currently ranks ninth in the list of EU investors in Vietnam with 28 projects totaling 114 million USD in capital.
