Three petrol stations in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong have had their business licenses revoked for meter tampering.

The province’s Department of Industry and Trade on Friday identified the three private firms: Viet Duc, Minh Hai, and Thanh Bao.

Inspectors found 11 of 66 gasoline stations in Lam Dong Province engaging in fraudulent trading and imposed fines total VND71.5 million (US$4,300).

Similar offences saw the Department of Market Management in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho fine two private oil companies and a petrol station a total VND22.5 million ($1,350) for illegally mixing different kinds of fuel, department chief Do Van Hung said.
