Buon Me Thuot Coffee Festival to promote domestic industry
More than 150 Vietnamese and foreign coffee entrepreneurs will showcase their latest coffee products and technology at the second Buon Me Thuot Coffee Festival, the organizers said.
The event will take place from December 10-14 in the Central Highlands Buon Me Thuot City, the organizers recently told the press.
It aims to boost the development of Vietnamese coffee exports and to promote the investment potential of Dak Lak Province.
Vietnam’s first coffee exchange floor will also be opened during the festival to promote industry trade, Nguyen Tuan Ha, deputy director of the Industry and Trade Department of Dak Lak Province, said.
VICOFA recently said crop harvests would yield 1.06 million tons in the next coffee growing year ending September 30, 2009.
The country targets to keep coffee cultivation areas to around 450,000-500,000 hectares with an annual output of about one million tons, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
