TAQ2309.003 Vietnam-Brazil trade increases
Trade between Vietnam and Brazil reached more than 379.3 million USD in the first eight months of this year, an increase of 17.34 percent as compared to the whole year of 2007.
Vietnam had by the end of August exported goods worth over 123 million USD to and imported more than 256.2 million USD from Brazil , seeing increases of 98.14 percent and 111.44 percent, respectively, according to statistics from the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
Brazil mainly shipped frozen chicken products, tanned leather, wheat, timber, tobacco, steel products, wood pulp, raw cotton and beef to Vietnam , while importing sport shoes, diesel engines, coal, rubber and electronic appliances.
Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva predicted during his visit to Vietnam last July that trade between the two countries would be 1 million USD by 2010.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Brazil reached a record high of 58 percent to 323.3 million USD in 2007.
