Stock indexes bounce back
The rising demand on September 15 helped the VN-Index end six consecutive drops by gaining 0.76 point to close at 476.76.
The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange saw more than 29.86 million shares worth more than 1 trillion VND being traded.
Of the 158 listed shares and four fund certificates on the southern bourse, there were 64 gainers, 91 losers and seven remained unchanged.
Six out of 10 major stocks, including Sacombank (STB), Phu My Fertilisers (DPM) and Hoa Phat Group (HPG), rose.
Experts said that the stock market will see many changes in the coming time when the September consumer price index and listed businesses’ third quarter financial reports are made public.
In Hanoi, the HASTC-Index gained 1.73 points or 1.08 percent to end the day at 162.35 points with 18.8 million shares worth 624.54 billion VND changing hands.
