Seminar discusses Vietnam’s agro-forestry and aquatic products in Russia
A seminar was held in Moscow, Russia on September 23 to discuss measures to boost cooperation in agriculture between Vietnam and Russia.
The seminar was co-organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the Vietnamese embassy in Russia and the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RF CCI) .
Addressing the opening ceremony, MARD deputy minister Luong Le Phuong spoke highly of cooperation potential between the two countries in investment and trade activities, especially in producing agro-forestry and aquatic products.
Mr Phuong said that these products now have a firm foothold in the world market and are also popular to many Russian consumers. However, their market share in Russia remains low. He expressed hope that Vietnamese agro-forestry and aquatic products will be increasingly sought after the Russian market in the future due to their diversified designs, high quality and advanced processing technology.
Sergey Vasiliev, Director of the RF CCI International Cooperation Department, affirmed Russia’s support for Vietnam in boosting cooperation in the agro-forestry and seafood sectors and expressed his hope that Vietnam will bring more products to Moscow and other cities in Russia.
