MobiFone has 21 million subscribers

MobiFone has officially announced that it has had 21 million subscribers as of August 28, after three consecutive quarters with rapid network expansion and subscription development, accounting for nearly 40% of the domestic market share, according to Dinh Viet Hung, head of the Pricing and Marketing Division of MobiFone.

MobiFone is expecting to increase its total subscription to 25 million by the end of this year, far exceeding the target set earlier for 2008 of 20 million.

On the occasion, the 21 millionth subscriber, owner of the mobile phone number 01267693147, has received presents from MobiFone worth VND 100 million.

MobiFone is currently installing more than a thousand base transceiver stations (BTS) more, bringing the total BTS owned by MobiFone throughout the country to nearly 10,000 by the end of this year to increase its service quality and coverage.
