Agro-forestry-fishery exports rise 33 percent
Vietnam earned 11.2 billion USD from exporting agro-forestry-fishery products in the first eight months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 33 percent, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
During the period, agricultural staples fetched over 6.3 billion USD or an increase by nearly 45 percent, while seafood raked in 2.9 billion USD, up 22 percent; and forestry, 2 billion USD, up by nearly 19 percent.
Although rice export quantity decreased by 5.4 percent, its export turnover was doubled thanks to the price spike.
The total rice export reached about 3.38 million tonnes in eight months, raking in 2.3 billion USD.
