Hanoi to get country’s first Holiday Inn Hotel
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has tied up with a domestic real estate company to build a Holiday Inn Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam’s first.
In a news release last Sunday, IHG said it has signed an agreement with Military Bank Land (MBLand).
The Holiday Inn Hanoi Dong Da at MBLand Tower is slated to open in the Vietnamese capitals’ Dong Da District in 2012.
It would have more than 300 rooms, the release said without providing too many other details.
Last year, IHG opened its first hotel in Vietnam, the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake.
MBLand was recently established by Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank and Service Flight Corporation.
IHG owns, manages, leases or franchises over 4,000 hotels with more than 590,000 rooms in nearly 100 countries and territories around the world.
The Holiday Inn hotel is one of the world’s leading hotel brands.
Hanoi is expected to attract two million international travelers and seven million domestic visitors by 2010.
The capital welcomed 3.7 million tourists in the first half of 2008, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in July.
