President praises outstanding young entrepreneurs

Young entrepreneurs are the core in the business circle and they play an extremely important role for the national economic growth, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Receiving outstanding young entrepreneurs who won the 2008 Golden Star Award in Hanoi on September 1, the State President said he was pleased with the development of the Vietnamese young entrepreneurs’ association, which has over the past 15 years expanded to include 53 local sub-associations and clubs with 7,000 members.

The State President spoke of the difficulties currently facing the country and asked young entrepreneurs to join hands to overcome the situation.

As many as 200 entrepreneurs won the 2008 Golden Star Award which is presented to outstanding businessmen annually. The winners in the past year made total revenues of US$24 billion, created jobs for more than 400,000 people, and remitted VND 24 trillion to the State budget.

They will attend the 2008 Golden Star Award presentation ceremony on September 2 in addition to a procession to raise money for poor students and other social activities.
