Water treatment plant inaugurated in HCM City
A 95-billion-VND water treatment plant was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City ’s Can Gio district on August 8.
The plant will treat 5,300 cu.m. of brackish water from the Soai Rap river everyday to provide safe water to more than 15,000 local households.
It is estimated the households demand 6,000 cu.m of safe water a day for daily needs.
People in Can Gio district have been seriously short of safe water, having to transport water by tankers through waterways, causing large expenditure.
The city provided about 2 billion VND in assistance to water transportation a year.
