Central key economic region international trade fair to be held in Da Nang
The Central Key Economic Region International Trade Fair 2008, CREXPO 2008, will be held in the central city of Da Nang from November 19 to 23, the organisers announced in a press conference in Hanoi today.
The event, themed "Networking, Integration and Development of the central and Central Highlands region," is expected to serve as a springboard for provinces and enterprises in the central key economic region and across the country to introduce their advantages in trade, investment, tourism and commercial service, fostering trading activities between these enterprises, said Nguyen Thanh Bien, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade at the conference.
He said the event will be held annually as a prestigious and high quality one, to create a good opportunity for domestic and foreign enterprises to seek partners, investment co-operation, trade promotion and technological transfer in the central and Central Highlands region.
CREXPO 2008 is expected to attract 250 foreign and domestic enterprises with some 450 booths, displaying agricultural, fisheries and forestry products, handicrafts, food and processed food, construction materials, garments and textiles, consumer goods, household appliances, machinery, transport vehicles, banking, insurance, information technology, postal and telecommunications services, and investment and tourism projects.
During the fair, there will be a trade promotion forum and art performances.
The fair is jointly organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Da Nang city within the National Trade Promotion Programme 2008.
The central key economic region consists of four provinces of Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh and the centrally-governed city of Da Nang.
