Northern coal merchants required to trade solely with Vinacomin
Coal merchants in the northern Quang Ninh Province can only sell coal supplies to the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), the Ministry of Industry and Trade ordered Tuesday.
The regulation aims to prevent coal from being sold through several traders, leading to smuggling problems and losses of the national resource.
Vinacomin must select qualified agents to buy coal and publicize buying prices.
Agents must have appropriate places to store supplies and equipment certified by authorized agencies to measure the quantity and quality of coal, the dispatch read.
