Eighth Thailand Exhibition opens in capital
The eighth Thailand Exhibition 2008 opened today in Hanoi at the Friendship Cultural Palace.
More than 100 Thai companies and their agents in Vietnam are displaying famous Thai brands and quality products in more than 140 booths at the exhibition, the largest of its kind ever being held so far.
The products on display are classified into 16 categories including food and beverage, health and beauty, household and kitchenware, autoparts and accessories, fashion jewelry, garment and textiles and fashion accessories, gift and decorative items, stationary products, children products, games and toys, construction, furniture, agricultural equipment, electrical appliances and packing products.
The annual event has been held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City since 2001 as part of serial trade promotion programmes of Thailand's Ministry of Commerce and the Royal Thai government and is aimed at introducing Thai products to Vietnamese consumers.
Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional art performances by Thai artists.
The event is organised by the Thai Ministry of Commerce's Department of Export Promotion, in collaboration with Royal Thai Embassy in Vietnam and Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad).
The exhibition closes on August 10.
