Agro-forestry and fishery exports hit over US$11 bln in 8 months
The total export turnover of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products in the past 8 months was estimated at US$11.2 billion, up 33 percent compared with the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on August 29.
Of this figure, agricultural products gained over US$6.3 billion (up 45 percent), aquatic products US$2.9 billion (up 22 percent), and forestry products US$2 billion (up 19 percent).
In particular, rice exports reached 3.38 million tonnes, down 5.4 percent, but earned US$2.3 billion, double last year’s 8-month figure.
