Vietnam Tea Day to be held

A Vietnam Tea Day 2008 will be held on July 19-20 in Hanoi in the hope of promoting Vietnam tea brands to international and domestic consumers, the Vietnam Tea Associationi has announced.

Almost all the major businesses of the tea sector will participate in the event in which Tan Hiep Phat Company acts as the main sponsor.

These enterprises are coming from nine provinces that have the largest areas under tea throughout the country. They will introduce to visitors the tea specialties of Vietnam that they have.

Vietnamese tea culture with different regional characteristics will be introduced at the Vietnam Tea Day 2008.

Currently, Vietnam has some 128,000 hectares under tea and some six million people are working in the sector. The country is now the world's fifth biggest tea exporter. Last year, Vietnam earned US$300 million from tea exports.
