Vietnam – potential market of China
Vietnam is a potential market of China , said chairman of the China Trade Union He Qihai as he opened the second Chinese Commodities Fair 2008 in Hanoi on July 10.
The chairman highlighted Vietnam ’s economic growth rate in recent years, adding that the fair is a good chance for Chinese businesses to penetrate the Vietnamese market and seek cooperation with local partners.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Asia-Pacific Department vice director Dao Tran Nhan highly valued the China Trade Union’s role in trade promotion activities to boost the two countries’ economic relations.
The second Chinese Commodities Fair 2008, which will run until July 13 has 100 stalls which are showcasing agricultural and constructional machineries, household electronic appliances, power-looms, hand-held tools, garments and textiles.
Vietnam-China economic ties has grown rapidly since the normalisation of their relation in 1991.
China has become Vietnam ’s largest trade partner, with bilateral turnover of 15 billion USD in 2007, a year-on-year increase of 44 percent and it is expected to reach 15 billion USD in 2010.
