Vietnam among Asia’s top five business destinations

Vietnam ranks fifth in a list of Asia’s best investment destinations for foreign firms, according to a survey conducted by financial advisory firm Ernst & Young and the Japan External Trade Organization.

In the survey of more than 200 international company executives, China and Japan share first place.

The runner-up was India, followed by Singapore and Hong Kong in third place and the Republic of Korea, the fourth.

In terms of foreign direct investment projects, China attracted 1,171 or 38 percent of the investments that went into Asia in 2007. India followed, with 676, and Vietnam, 260.
