MoneyGram home delivers overseas money transfers
The US-headquartered global payment services company MoneyGram International and Dong A Bank (DAB) yesterday launched a home delivery service for international money transfers.
The new option allows receivers to ask MoneyGram to deliver money transfers directly to their home or business address.
The delivery service makes it easier and more convenient for customers, who traditionally were required to collect money from a MoneyGram agent.
MoneyGram has offered this additional choice of home delivery service to overseas Vietnamese around the world.
"Our research showed us that there is a real need for home delivery in Viet Nam," said Nick Cunnew, MoneyGram’s senior regional director for Asia Pacific and South Asia.
"Travelling to an agent location to pick up a money transfer sent from family members overseas sometimes is not always easy for many Vietnamese.
"We now offer a choice to our receivers to conveniently have their funds delivered directly to their home and or offices. This is very valuable to our customers, especially the elderly."
To use the home delivery service, the money transfer receiver in Viet Nam calls DAB for the service.
The funds will be delivered within 12 hours if the address is downtown, and 24-36 hours in rural areas. There is no additional charge for the receivers.
DAB ‘s CEO Tran Binh Phuong, said: "We focused on developing the local financial market and transferring global best-practice methods for the benefit of our customers.
"Our goal is to become the best retail bank by 2010 and the best financial group by 2015."
Aligning ourselves with MoneyGram will ensure that we provide our customers with international standards of convenience and security".
