Taiwanese firms praise industrial machinery expo
Taiwanese companies have applauded Vietnam for hosting the annual International Industrial Machinery and Equipment Expo, saying it is a valuable chance for them to expand their export markets and improve business efficiency.
The 5th International Industrial Machinery and Equipment Expo is taking place in Hanoi from June 5-8, attracting 128 domestic and international businesses, with 40 percent coming from Taiwan .
Head of Top Winner’s Vietnam office, Ming Che Wu, said the exhibition will help the group look for more investment partners.
Wu said Top Winner signed contracts worth 600,000 USD with Vietnamese enterprises at the last event. In late May, the group also inked a deal to provide 400,000 USD worth of equipment to the Hoa Phat Co. Ltd.
Since first exploring the Vietnamese market in 1998, the Taiwanese firm has supplied equipment production lines, mechanical machines for special use, and automobile and motorbike spare parts.
Top Winner has also joined in training programmes with a number of local establishments, including the Ha Noi Industrial University, the Dong Anh College , and the Industrial Vocational Training School II in Ho Chi Minh City .
Wu’s view was echoed by the director of the Shanghai CMIC Machinery and Electrical Products Co. Ltd in Vietnam , Tsui Chung Fai, who said his company’s revenues increased considerably after participating in the last two exhibitions.
Tsui said Shanghai CMIC is now the main supplier of packing production equipment for around 200 businesses in Ho Chi Minh City, adding that his firm expects to seek more partners following this year’s event.
Representatives from other Taiwanese businesses all praised Vietnam’s industrial growth, saying the country is a potential market for foreign investors.
