Corporations ink contract on gas purchase for power plant
The Vietnam Oil and Gas Electricity Corporation and the Vietnam Natural Gas Corporation on June 4 signed a contract on the latter's sale of gas to the Nhon Trach 1 Combined Cycle Power Plant.
Under the contract, the gas supplies for the power plant will be taken from the 06.1 and 06.2 lots of Nam Con Son Basin. The plant is estimated to consume some 494 billion cubic metres of gas a year to generate 2.7 billioni kWh of electricity to the national grid a year.
The Nhon Trach 1 Combined Cycle Power Plant has a design capacity of 450 MW. The Vietnam Oil and Gas Electricity Corporation is the investor of the project which has a total investment capital of over VND 6.45 trillion.
