Ministry bans new cement making licences
The Ministry of Construction has told several provinces to stop granting investment licences for new cement plants from now until 2015.
Under the development plan of existing cement plants and plants under construction, the country will be able to supply enough cement for local demand in 2009.
By 2015, domestic cement production will exceed local demand by about 17.8 million tonnes a year.
