Cement production up 16% in first half

The Vietnam Cement Corporation (Vicem) announced it has produced and sold over 7 million tonnes of cement in the first six months of this year, up 16% compared to the same period last year.

In order to stabilise the cement market in southern provinces, in May and June, Vicem has transported nearly 240,000 tonnes of cement and clinker to the southern region.

Along with boosting production to increase supplies to the market, Vicem has also promoted co-ordination with contractors to accelerate construction of key cement projects.
