Total salt production area up 1.5 times
Vietnam's total salt production area has reached nearly VND 12,500 hectares, up 1.5 times compared to the same period last year.
And this increase is seen mostly are in the Mekong river delta, the central and southern regions.
Thus, the country's total salt production has also increased by 1.5 times year-on-year.
Farmers are currently quite happy as prices of salt have increased, at VND 1,100-1,300 a kilogramme.
According to experts, this year domestic salt production will be sufficient to meet domestic demand.
