Stock indexes edge up
The Ho Chi Minh City bourse and its Ha Noi counterpart continued to rise though slightly, during the March 13 trading session thanks to the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC)’s interference in the market.
The VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) picked up 3.07 points or 0.57 percent to finish at 647.60 points with 9.6 million shares worth 543 billion VND being traded
The rising trend has slowed down in the group of blue chips such as Hau Giang Pharmaceutical (DHG), Sai Gon Securities (SSI), Hoa Phat Group (HPG), Sacombank (STB), Gemaddept (GMD), Electrical Engineering Corp (REE), Cables and Telecom Materials (SAM) and PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD).
Hoa Binh Construction and Real Estate Corp (HBC), Tu Liem Urban Development (NTL) and Song Da Construction 5 (SC5) were the main losers of the day.
In Ha Noi, gains by Asia Commercial Bank (ACB), PetroVietnam Insurance (PVI) and the group of Song Da construction shares has helped the HaSTC-Index climb 2.10 points or 0.93 percent to end at 227.51 points.
The market saw 3.4 million shares worth 202 billion VND changing hands.
