Singapore bourse says Vietnam pact on product not trading tie
Singapore Exchange Ltd., the operator of the city-state’s equities and derivatives markets, said talks with the Vietnamese stock exchange would focus on information exchange and regulations, not a trading link.
Singapore Exchange signed an agreement with the Ho Chi Min Securities Trading Center in February 2007 to cooperate on equities and derivatives product Vietnam may also form a trading link with Singapore and allow securities firms to buy and sell stocks in both exchanges, Tran Dac Sinh, chief executive officer of the Ho Chi Minh center, said then.
Singapore’s central bank and its Vietnamese counterpart signed an initial agreement to expand links between the nations’ lender and cooperate on supervision, the Monetary Authority of Singapore said January 30.
