Vinacomin mining office opens in Cambodia

The Viet Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) opened a representative office in Cambodia on November 5.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vinacomin General Director Tran Xuan Hoa said the office will act as a trade and investment bridge between Vinacomin affiliates and Cambodian partners as well as facilitate the implementation of the group’s projects in Cambodia.

As one of Viet Nam’s seven largest industry groups, Vinacomin intends to implement mineral exploitation projects in Cambodia , Hoa said, adding that the group will prioritise local labour to contribute to poverty reduction in Cambodia.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang, who is on a working visit to Cambodia , Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Chien Thang and Cambodian Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy Suy Sem.
