Hanoi bourse witnesses busiest trading month in October
October was the month with busiest trading activities ever at the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre, the northern bourse said in a statement released November 2.
In overall, the market indicator, the HASTC-Index, gained a total of 69.47 points or 20.85%, closing the month at 379.21 points on October 31. Throughout the month, the index gained in 15 sessions and dropped in 8 other sessions.
Especially, trading volume saw a robust increase, up over 197% compared to the previous month, with a total of 132.82 million shares matched in October for nearly VND 15 trillion.
On average, around 5.77 million shares were traded for VND 650.5 billion a trading session.
Prices of a majority of listed stocks also increased sharply. Specifically, compared to September, only three stocks decreased in prices while 88 others advanced.
Most notably, stocks of companies of the Song Da Corporation were among the ones with highest increase. These included S55 (up VND 127,500 a share compared to the previous month), SDA (up VND 124,900 a share), SNG (up VND 110,800 a share), SD3 (up VND 101,100 a share).
More than ten others, MEC, STP, GHA. YSC, ILC, HLY, SAP, PAN, PTS, DAE and CMC had their prices doubled compared to September.
Stocks with high market prices continued to increase such as BVS, RCL, VSP and ACB.
In terms of trading volume, ACB topped the list with 7.7 million shares changing hands for nearly VND 1.3 trillion in October, followed by PVS (7.3 million shares matched), PAN (6.02 million shares) and MPC (5.58 million shares).
Foreign investor’s trading activities were also busier in October. They traded a total of 8.86 million shares this month, up 89.52% compared to September figure.
In November, nearly ten new stocks are scheduled to be listed on the northern bourse and several listed companies such as PVI, HPC and BMI will issue additional shares in large quantities. It is hoped that the listing of these stocks will help push the growth of the northern bourse
