MobiFone gets users’ vote for highest quality
MobiFone’s cellular networks ranked highest in quality among three mobile service providers tested by the Post and Telematics Quality Control Directorate under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
The results were unveiled following the directorate’s recent testing of three mobile phone networks: Vinaphone, MobiFone and S-Phone.
According to the directorate, it conducted the quality testing for Vinaphone in southern Khanh Hoa province while MobiFone and S-Phone were tested in the northern mountainous Lao Cai province and the central highlands Lam Dong province, respectively.
The testing showed that the quality of the mobile phone networks of the three suppliers met the country’s standards.
The directorate said that MobiFone’s quality topped the three mobile phone supplier in terms of successful call proportion, transmission and customer service.
Successful calls on MobiFone’s network reached 98.81 percent while those of Vinaphone and S-Phone were 98.64 and 95.18 percent, respectively. The required standard is 92 percent.
Failed calls on MobiFone were 0.38 percent below the permitted maximum of 5 percent. The figures for Vinaphone and S-Phone were 0.74 and 2.82 percent, respectively.
As for transmission quality, MobiFone gained 3.576 points, the directorate’s statistics reported, adding that the figures for Vinaphone and S-Phone are 3.054 and 3.018 points, respectively. The requirement is for a least 3 points.
Testing the providers’ phone charge calculations, the directorate found that both MobiFone and Vinaphone make no error while the error proportion of S-Phone is 0.093 percent below the allowed maximum of 0,1 percent.
The proportion of successful calls to MobiFone’s customer service lines also reached up to 98.04 percent while that of Vinaphone and S-Phone were 92.83 and 88.89 percent, respectively.
According to the directorate’s deputy director Nguyen Duc Trung, testing of the country’s mobile phone networks is implemented yearly in a move to increase the quality of the networks.
“The directorate selects the testing locations rabdomly. For those networks whose quality in previous testing in urban areas met the required standards, we will now move to test their quality in rural areas,” Trung said.
