Indexes down slightly at both bourses
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) and its Ha Noi-based counterpart recorded losses by the end of the October 17 trading session.
The VN-Index at the HoSE dipped by 2.59 points to finish at 1,101.29 points. Around 13.5 million shares, worth nearly 1.3 trillion VND, changed hands.
The session witnessed 68 stocks rally for gains, 14 remain unchanged and 39 decline.
Blue chips, Financing and Promoting Technology Corporation (FPT), Cables and Telecom Materials (SAM), Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE), Kinh Do Corp. (KDC) and Domestic Medical Import & Export (DMC) were named on the list of shares that recorded gains.
Meanwhile, Vien Dong Paper (VID), Binh Dinh Minerals (BMC), Tay Ninh Cable Tour Company (TCT) and Hau Giang Pharmaceutical (DHG) were among the biggest losers of the day.
In Ha Noi, the HaSTC-Index dropped 6.88 points to close at 372.28 points. More than 6.7 million shares, worth 712.5 billion VND, were traded.
