VN-Index down, HaSTC still going up
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) recorded a slight loss while its Ha Noi counterpart continued its recent rebound by the end of the October 16 trading session.
The VN-Index at the HoSE dipped by 1.33 points to end the day on 1,103.88 points. Today’s trading volume increased considerably with more than 14.4 million shares worth more than 1.4 trillion VND being traded. Sixty-nine stocks made gains, 11 stocks remained unchanged and 41 others were on the decline.
Blue chips, Financing and Promoting Technology Corporation (FPT), Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (STB) and Cables and Telecom Materials (SAM) all recorded slight losses for the day while Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) and General Forwarding and Agency Corporation (GMD) remained unchanged.
In Ha Noi, the HaSTC rose 8.48 points to finish up on 379.33 points. Today’s trading volume increased sharply with almost 8 million shares, worth 775 billion VND, being traded.
Bao Viet Securities (BVS) topped the list of big movers that recorded gains by racking up more than 50,000 VND onto its listed price of 588,000 VND. BVS was followed by Song Da 9.09 (S99) with a 37,400 VND spike and Song Da 7 (SD7)’s 37,000 VND rise.
