Indexes on the rise, turnover hits record high
Both the Ho Chi Minh City bourse and its Ha Noi-based counterpart continued their upward trend by the end of the September 26 trading session.
By closing, the VN-Index at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) increased by 6.03 points to finish at 1015.91 points. Trading volume spiked to a record high as more than 16.5 million shares worth over 1.45 trillion VND changed hands.
The market witnessed 61 stocks rally for gains, 35 remain unchanged and 21 fall.
Blue chip shares like the Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT), Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corp. (REE), Cables and Telecom Materials (SAM), Thu Duc Housing Developing Corp (TDH) and Sea and Air Freight International (SFI) were among the biggest losers.
The Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) closed the session with over 3.37 million shares worth 292.6 billion VND being traded. The HaSTC-Index recorded an increase of 1.46 points to finish at 291.74 points.
Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) was among the biggest losers by having 3,000 VND wiped off its listed price of 145,000 VND, followed by Saigon Securities Inc (SSI), Tien Phong Plastic (NTP), Song Da 9.09 (S99) and PetroVietnam Securities (PVS).
Meanwhile, Sacombank and VnDirect officials in Ha Noi said that the sudden increases in orders at the opening (ATO) caused an overload on the securities companies’ direct transaction systems. Investors’ orders could not be matched due to a series of mistakes, they said.
