VN-Index down, HaSTC up
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE)'s VN-Index saw a slight decline of 1.82 points to close at 1,014.09 by the end of the September 27 session.
Blue-chips, Danang Rubber (DRC), Hoa Binh Rubber (HRC), PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services (PVD), Refrigeration Electrical Engineering (REE), Cables and Telecom Materials (SAM) all recorded losses for the day.
Meanwhile, penny shares such as Halong Canned Food CAN), Bim Son Packaging (BPC), My Chau Printing and Packing (MCP) and Thanh Thanh Ceramic Tile (TTC) all rose.
By closing, the bourse witnessed 12.6 millions shares worth 1,197 billion VND changing hands. Thirty-two shares made gains, 72 shares remained unchanged and 13 shares were on the decline.
The Ha Noi Securities Trading Centre (HaSTC) continued its upward trend by bumping up 3.33 points to finish at 295.32 points.
Decreases in blue-chippers in the HOSE affected blue chip shares at HaSTC, including Bao Viet Securities (BVS), Bao Minh (BMI), and Tien Phong Rubber (NTP).
On the day, the HaSTC saw 3.6 million shares valued 362 billion VND being traded.
Experts from the Sacombank Securities Company said despite the slight decrease in VN-Index, the total trading volume and value of shares remained high.
